Math Track

All students should successfully complete Secondary Math I, II, and III or Secondary Math Honors I, II, and III to qualify to take any concurrent enrollment MATH course. Students who do not have an ACT Math Score will have to take the Accuplacer for math placement. A grade of C or higher is required to progress. If a student enrolls in a course for which they have not earned at least a C in the prerequisite course, the course will be dropped from the student's schedule. Students receiving a grade lower than a C in a prerequisite course will need to retake that prerequisite course before moving on. If the prerequisite course was taken at AMES, the retake will have to be taken at the University of Utah campus.

MATH 1050 & 1060 are primarily for students in the Physical and Life Sciences, Engineering, or Mines & Earth Sciences who will advance to Calculus (MATH 1210). Both MATH 1050 and 1060 are needed to take Calculus. Starting Fall 2015, students must take and pass MATH 1050  to progress to MATH 1060.
