Chemistry Track

All students should successfully complete Secondary Math I, II, or III or Secondary Math Honors I, II, and III. Students who do not have an ACT Math Score will have to take the Accuplacer for math placement. A grade of C or higher is required to progress. If a student enrolls in a course for which they have not earned at least a C in the prerequisite course, the course will be dropped from the student's schedule. Students receiving a grade lower than a C in a prerequisite course will need to retake that prerequisite course before moving on. If the prerequisite course was taken at AMES, the retake will have to be taken at the University of Utah campus.

Science majors should begin the general chemistry sequence with CHEM 1210 and its associated laboratory course, CHEM 1215.
